Faroes: The Shangri-La of the 21st Century?

Not many people outside Northern Europe have even heard of the Faroes, a small chain of rocky islands in the North Atlantic Ocean, halfway between Norway and Iceland.

But this tiny country with a population the size of a small town really could be the Shangri-La of our modern world. It's peaceful, harmonious, prosperous, and breathtakingly beautiful.

Simon Anholt has spent the last year working with a coalition of government, public sector, private sector and civil society to develop a national strategy that will help the Faroes engage more productively with the rest of the world.
